Battle of the Villains!
Avatar: the last airbender is one of my favorite tv shows ever! Its great! It also has some great villains, but which one is the baddest of them all? Welcome everyone to another Avatar post on ScreenTelescope! Let's find out who's the baddest of them all!
Zuko V.S General Zhao
I think this is a good place to start! The two Firebenders in season 1 who were fighting for the Avatar. Here we'll look at the battles, there victory, there defeats and there character.
Battles
Zuko and Zhao fight a few times, and each time Zuko wins. However, Zhao is fairly evenly matched (in season 1!) and even survives facing an angry Iroh! He is also more ruthless than Zuko and clever.
Zuko focuses really hard on getting what he wants. He in season does, however both survive and beat Zhao!
Character And Achievements
First lets start with Zhao. So he is much more evil than Zuko is character wise. He's cunning and is not after the Avatar to regain his honor but instead for fame and going down in fire nation history. He also has a short temper and often backstabs whenever it works in his favor.
As for his deeds and achievements, he burned the spirit library, he burned ancient spirit scrolls, he fought his own master, he captured the Avatar once but lost him, he slayed the moon and fought Zuko and Iroh and soon after got killed. Yep, dying goes agents him for sure.
As for Zuko, in Season 1, he captures the Avatar many times, gets banished for talking out of turn, goes to great lengths to capture the Avatar to regain his honor, even freeing him to do so. He also uses Katara's necklace to track them and burns villages in his way. But, later he turns good and helps the Avatar to defeat the Fire Lord.
So the winner of this battle goes too... Zhao! Even though he was weaker than Zuko, he had more evil intention and didn't turn good.
Zhao V.S Wan Shi Tong
The Librarian with all those scrolls VS the Firebender who burned them! This should be in interesting! So this time we'll just look at Wan Shi Tong.
Battles
We only get to see Won Shi Tong fight once and that was all by himself agents team Avatar! While Zhao mostly fought the Avatar with a bunch of troops. Won Shi Tong also knew all kinds of bending (except Sokka style!), could sink the library and was a giant, flying spirit owl who just might keep you as a specimen! Yeah, if Zhao and Wan Shi Tong got in a battle its no contest. Won Shi Tong would win by a landslide!
Character and Achievements
His main care is knowledge. He loves knowledge and has the most scrolls and books in the world. But when Zhao burned lots of his books, he realized that humans only used his books for war and for an advantage. So, he diffidently has a lot less evil intentions than Zhao. infact he probably shouldn't be on this list but he's cool and that's essential for a great villain!
In the end, the winner is, Zhao, as much as it pains me to say it! Zhao is out for power, not to preserve knowledge.

Sparky Sparky Boom Man (or Combustion Man!)
Oh man, Zhao has actually made it farther than I thought he would. Keep in mind these battles are there overall evilness, not how tough they are, otherwise Zhao would be at the bottom! But the next battle will be a fire nation general V.S an Assassin that can, "blow stuff up with his mind!" This could get interesting!
Battles
From now on I'll just call him Sparky to be easier. He is an extremely skilled Assassin that has almost killed the Avatar a LOT of times, and each time they just barley make it out! Once he's told to do something, there's no stopping him, not even if the person who gave them the task changes there mind.
Not only can he shoot explosions out of his forehead, but his legs and hands are made of metal as well. He also can't or doesn't talk and I'm not sure he thinks completely right! His only weakness is hitting something into his forehead, which will cause the explosion to backfire on him, which is easier said than done.
Yeah, once again, Zhao wouldn't stand a chance.
Character and Achievements
This character is actually a mystery. Zuko heard that he was good at what he does, and doesn't spill any beans so he hired him to kill the Avatar. We also know he is almost like a robot that you can't reprogram.
And... that's about all we know about him. However, from what Zuko says, he sounds like a deadly bounty hunter that goes after people for a living. Looks like he's give Bobba Fett a run for his money!
And the winner of this round is... Sparky Sparky Boom Man! Even though he isn't necessary evil snce he just does what he is told, the battle plays too much into this one so he won by a landslide! (plus I could not say that Zhao was more evil than Sparky!)
Sparky Sparky Boom Man V.S Long Fang
This time, an Assassin that shoots stuff from his brain will be facing a guy who likes things done... "Quietly." This is going to be hard.
Battles
Long Fang himself isn't the best fighter, but he is the leader of the Di Ly, an elete groop of secret (and cool!) police force. Plus he also has those who he has brainwashed. Other than that, he's just an average earth bender. But this next one really makes up for that.
Character and Achievements
Long Fang is more of a behind the scenes mastermind kinda guy. He controls the city and the king, by keeping things like the war quiet and if people are too much trouble, or it benefits him, they'll be brainwashed! All the Judy's are brainwashed women! Now, that's dark! Not to mention evil for him to keep out important information and brainwashing.
And the winner is... Long Fang. He may lose to Sparky in a fight, but from his Dai Li agensts, to his brainwashing, Long Fang is more evil.
Long Fang V.S Azula
Who will win, the leader of the Dai Li or... the leader of the Dai Li? Well, this should be a battle for the ages!

Character and Achievements
Azula hunted down the Avatar, and even killed him once! That's right! She was the only person ever to shoot down an Avatar in the Avatar state... EVER! Now that's a feat! She is also the main villain of season 2 and gets the Dai Li on her side and backstabs Long Fang. Then she took over Ba Sing Say, with the help of Zuko.
She also had the plan to burn down the earth kingdom with the eclipse. The only issue here is, when her friends betrayed her, she went... well, crazy. No longer was she cunning and agile but sycotic, and that was her downfall. But even at her worse she faught Zuko in the most intense Agni kai and almost killed Zuko with lightning, her own brother.
Who wins? Azula by a landslide! I'm sorry but there's no contest here.
Next up is the main event...
Fire Lord Ozai V.S Azula
Its time! Fire Lord Ozai himself agents his own daughter princess Azula. It will be hard, because they are both quite evil and quite hard. It will be a battle of the centenary!
Battles
We only get to see the Fire Lord "fight" twice, and one of the times doesn't really count. It was when Ozai shot lighting at Zuko, but that's not the one we'll be discussing. Its the climax of the whole series, the baddest man on the planet, Fire Lord Ozai V.S the Avatar himself.
For quite some time he was giving Ang a run for his money with fire and flames everywhere. But when Ang got the Avatar state back, he was no problem. To be fair, I don't think anyone stands a chance agents an Avatar in the Avatar state.
Character and Achievements
We don't even get to see the Fire Lord except for his shadow in flames until season 3. When we do, you might expect an evil looking monster. But instead, we just see a man. However, he is a monster. He had planned to kill Zuko so he could claim the throne.
He is sly, cunning, evil and smart like Azula. He enjoys destruction and conquering, he practically took over the earth and would have if it wasn't for the Avatar. He gave his son a scar and banished him for talking out of turn. So, in short, he's one bad guy!
So... who wins? In a battle... its hard to say. Azula's flames are more concentrated and hot, but Ozai takes a different approach and makes giant flames. As for whose more evil... again, quite hard to say. Azula almost killed Zuko and killed Ang, Ozai almost killed Zuko and almost killed Ang... I'll call it... a draw!
